Insurance, Referrals, and Billing
Insurance
We accept the following insurances: Blue Cross, Tufts, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Aetna, Cigna, Fallon, HealthCare Value Management, MassHealth-PCC only, and others.
MassHealth: We only accept the MassHealth-Primary Care Clinician (PCC) plan. We do not accept Neighborhood Health Plan, BMC-Healthnet, Commonwealth Care or any other MassHealth Managed Care Organization plan. We are sorry for any inconvenience, please feel free to call us with any questions regarding this matter.
We bill many insurance companies directly. To assist us in accurate billing, you will be asked to present your insurance card at each visit. If you have a copayment for office visits, please plan to pay at the time of your visit. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards (except American Express). Any services not paid by your insurance will be billed directly to you. This includes deductibles, co-insurance amounts, and other services which your insurance does not cover. Contact your insurance company or benefits coordinator to learn more about your specific plan.
If your insurance company requires you to designate a primary care physician, please be sure to contact them with the appropriate information at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. You also need to contact your insurance company to enroll your newborn after the birth.
Referrals
For assistance in deciding whether your child needs to see a specialist or for specific advice as to which specialist to see, discuss the problem with your physician. Once the physician has recommended your child see a specialist, call the specialist and make an appointment.
To have an insurance referral processed, call the office and leave the message containing the following information:
-Your child's name and date of birth
-Name of the specialist, office address, and NPI number if available
-Appointment date and time
-Name of your insurance carrier
-Your name and the best phone number at which we can reach you
It is best if you call us as soon as you make your specialty appointment. Generally we need at least one week to process a referral. Requests made less than one week prior to an appointment may not be able to be processed. Referral requests received after the appointment has occurred are generally not able to be processed.
Your insurance plan may have restrictions in regards to referrals. We can assist you in finding appropriate care. Please call if you have questions.

We understand that conflicts and emergencies sometimes arise. If you are unable to make an appointment, we appreciate at least 24 hours notice so that another family may be seen. Please call us at the office if you anticipate being more than 15 minutes late for your appointment.
